Welcome to students from 6 prestigious universities within the framework of the international programmes organised by the CSLM

Almost a hundred students from four American universities, Valdosta State University, Davidson College, Pennsylvania State University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, as well as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, have begun their academic stays at the University of Cadiz this past week through the international programmes organised by the Centro Superior de Lenguas Modernas (CSLM). The University of Southern Mississippi will do so on Wednesday, as they have had to postpone the start of their programme due to problems arising from a strike by their airline.

The welcome ceremony, which was held in the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Medicine, was offered by the director of the CSLM, Javier de Cos, who, accompanied by the centre’s coordinator, María Fernández, addressed a message of greetings and thanks to the students and coordinators for having once again chosen the University of Cadiz as a destination to perfect their Spanish and get to know the Spanish-speaking culture. He also wished them success from both an academic and personal point of view, insisting on the importance of making the most of an immersion context such as the one they will be in during the month of July.

In the case of The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s programme, this is the first time it has come to Cadiz with a specific tailor-made programme, after many months of work on the design of the academic programme for its students. It joins a long list of universities from all over the world that trust in the University of Cadiz to send their students to study Spanish and learn about socio-cultural topics.
