Students from The College of William & Mary and the University of South Carolina are taking part in language and cultural immersion programmes organised by the University School of Modern Languages
The Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation at the University of Cádiz has welcomed around thirty students from two renowned American universities, The College of William & Mary and the University of South Carolina, who began their academic stays at the UCA this week through international programmes organised by the University School of Modern Languages (CSLM).
This initiative forms part of the University of Cádiz’s internationalisation strategy, aimed at strengthening the institution’s international profile, promoting academic and cultural exchange, and consolidating partnerships with leading universities on the international stage. Through these programmes, the UCA continues to position itself as a destination of academic excellence for international students interested in the Spanish language and culture.
The welcome ceremony took place in the Salón de Grados at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies and was hosted by the General Director of Language Policy at the UCA, Leonor Acosta, accompanied by the CSLM coordinator, María Fernández, as well as the lecturers responsible for the programmes in the United States, Álvaro Garrote and Nina Moreno. Also in attendance was the Director of MundoLengua, Yaye Baena, an organisation collaborating in the management and development of these international initiatives.
During the meeting, the institutional representatives highlighted the importance of this type of programme in promoting the international dimension of the University of Cádiz and fostering linguistic and cultural immersion experiences that enrich both visiting students and the university community itself.
