The University of Cádiz welcomes 15 students from Davidson College for its international summer programme 1 July 2026
The American students will be taking part in an academic programme combining language and cultural immersion until 24 July
The Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation at the University of Cádiz has welcomed fifteen students from Davidson College (North Carolina, USA), who will be undertaking an academic placement at the UCA from 29 June until 24 July as part of the international programmes organised by the University School of Modern Languages (CSLM).
The welcome ceremony took place at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences and was attended by the Director-General for Language Policy and of the University School of Modern Languages, Leonor Acosta. Also in attendance were the CSLM coordinator, María Fernández; the programme coordinator in the United States, Patricio Boyer; and the director of MundoLengua, Yaye Baena, an organisation collaborating in the management and development of this initiative.
The visit forms part of the summer programme run by the University of Cádiz in partnership with Davidson College, an academic collaboration now in its twenty-third year. Over the course of more than two decades, the programme has established itself as one of the University of Cádiz’s long-standing international initiatives, offering American students an experience that combines academic study with linguistic and cultural immersion.
During their stay, the students will have the opportunity to improve their Spanish language skills and gain first-hand knowledge of the historical, cultural and social heritage of Cádiz and its surroundings, fostering intercultural exchange and interaction with the university community.

Through programmes such as this, the University of Cádiz continues to strengthen its internationalisation strategy, promoting academic mobility and consolidating partnerships with higher education institutions in various countries. The ongoing collaboration with Davidson College is a prime example of these international relationships, contributing both to raising the UCA’s profile abroad and to the academic and cultural enrichment of those taking part in such experiences.
