The University of Cadiz, through the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation and the General Directorate for Language Policy, has welcomed 23 students from the University of Georgia (USA), as part of the international programmes organised by the University School of Modern Languages (CSLM).
The General Director of Language Policy, Leonor Acosta, and the CSLM coordinator, María Fernández, hosted the welcome ceremony in the Aulario Constitución de 1812, accompanied by representatives from the University of Georgia, Gary Baker and Aitor Ezquerra.
The University of Georgia programme is the first of 15 US programmes that the UCA will host this summer. In total, around 200 American students are expected to arrive, a figure that reinforces the Cadiz-based institution’s commitment to internationalisation and consolidates the CSLM as an international centre of excellence in Spanish language teaching and intercultural training.

Furthermore, this year’s programme holds special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the partnership between the University of Georgia and the University of Cadiz. Over the course of this quarter of a century, hundreds of students have taken part in an academic and cultural programme that has helped to strengthen the educational and personal ties between the two institutions, reflecting the mutual trust and the success of a partnership that has been consolidated over time.
.The UCA has emphasised the importance of this type of initiative in fostering cultural exchange, promoting the university’s international profile and enriching the academic and personal experience of the participating students.
