The Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation has welcomed twenty students from Valdosta State University (Georgia, USA), who will enjoy an academic stay until 11 July as part of the international programmes organised by the Centro Superior de Lenguas Modernas (CSLM).
Numerous extracurricular activities are also scheduled during this period, such as excursions and visits to different parts of the province of Cadiz and Andalusia, volunteer programmes, language exchanges, etc.
The welcome ceremony, which was held in the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, was given by the General Director for Language Policy and CSLM, Jesús Bolaño, accompanied by the centre’s coordinator, María Fernández, and the people in charge of the programme in the United States, Victoria Russell and Brian Nelson. During the meeting, the organisers emphasised the importance of this collaboration, which is now in its 13th year and was born out of the participation in 2006 and 2010 of the teacher, Victoria Russell, in the SFL teacher training and professional retraining programme organised by the CSLM in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Washington.
