The University of Cadiz receives a delegation from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York

A delegation from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York (CUNY) recently visited the University of Cadiz (UCA) with the aim of exploring new opportunities for collaboration and strengthening academic ties between the two institutions. The delegation, composed of Kenneth Yanes, Director of International Relations at John Jay College, and Javier Moreno, International Mobility Coordinator of the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, was received by Jesús Bolaño Quintero, Director General of Language Policy, and Enrique Durán Guerrero, Director of the Internationalisation Secretariat at the University of Cadiz.

During the meeting, various initiatives were discussed, including student mobility, with the aim of strengthening relations between the two institutions. They also discussed the implementation of Spanish programmes at the UCA’s Centro Superior de Lenguas Modernas (CSLM) and the signing of agreements to bring language assistants to the University of Cadiz.The possibility for the UCA community to carry out assistantships at the City University of New York was also considered and opportunities for John Jay College to develop Faculty-Led programmes at the University of Cadiz facilities were explored, integrating into the internationalisation initiatives at home.
Options for hosting interns and participating in volunteer programmes were also discussed.

The visit concluded with a tour of the CSLM facilities, where the delegation met with its coordinators, Mª Carmen Fernández and Arkaitz Errazkin, to learn first-hand about the resources and capabilities offered by the University of Cadiz. Both institutions expressed their commitment to continue working together to implement the ideas discussed and strengthen their collaboration in the near future.
