Last Friday we were able to enjoy, with the help of the students of the Villanova University Semester Program (Pennsylvania, USA), a very interesting historical route through Cadiz, which they called “From Gadir to Cadiz”. To do so, the students used different literary quotations that were contextualised throughout the walk. From Avieno to Juan José Téllez, passing through writings by Rafael Alberti, Pilar Paz Pasamar, Fernando Quiñones, Ibn Shujais, Al-Himyari, Miguel de Cervantes, Blanco White, Lord Byron, Benito Pérez Galdós, or through the same epitaph to Manuel de Falla.
This activity is part of the internship programme included in its training programme at the University of Cadiz (VUSP Cadiz), the “Internship in cultural management and marketing”, coordinated by Salvador García, head of the Carlos Edmundo de Ory Foundation.
The Villanova University Semester Program, which is organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation through the CSLM and whose resident director is Prof. María Jesús Ruiz, began on 19 February and will end on 31 May.
For its part, the summer programme of the University of Villanova will carry out its academic stay in Cadiz from next week and this year celebrates 35 years of trusting the University of Cadiz to train its students in Spanish.
